Laughing Cat Riesling chosen "Best of the West"Carlson Laughing Cat Riesling won the popular vote of readers for the "Best Favorite Locally Made Wine" category in the 2008 Best of the West competition. The annual event is published in the major daily newspaper in Grand Junction, The Daily Sentinel, and generates lots of buzz, friendly competition, and boasting rights.
The Sentinel wrote: "This white wine is winning awards everywhere. It's semi-sweet, and goes well with fruits and cheeses, chicken, ham, or fish. It's especially good before dinner, but also goes down well during dinner, after dinner or any other time you're looking for a crisp reminder of summer."
It's true, we are winning awards everywhere, but clearly people in the region exhibit remarkable good taste. This was Parker's favorite wine in 2007.
